Hi Everyone!! My name is Liyana Nazer and I am a junior in high school. I am incredibly excited to be participating in the ASFL Gauntlet this year!! Basketball has always been one of the biggest parts of my life, so being able to use the sport I love to support such an important cause means a lot to me.
Cancer affects millions of people around the world every year and unfortunately it has affected my life as well. Last year, my grandmother who had always been healthy and active, was suddenly diagnosed with cancer. Less than a year later, she passed away. Watching how quickly cancer changed her life and impacted everyone who loved her made me realize that behind every diagnosis is a family whose lives are forever changed.
Those experiences have shown me that cancer impacts far more than just the person diagnosed. It affects entire families and communities. That is why this cause is so important to me. My goal is to raise as much money as possible to support cancer research and families affected by the disease. Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a difference.
